Chamber musicians dedicated to renaissance and 20th century composition.

The William & Mary Schola Cantorum: Welcome!

Welcome to the home of The William & Mary Schola Cantorum, an entirely student-directed chamber choir dedicated to renaissance and twentieth century composition. Modeled in part on the university chapel choirs of Oxford and Cambridge, our ensemble sings from a broad, varied repertoire of sacred and secular music. Since the spring of 2010, the Schola has been championing underperformed repertoire, collaborating with student conductors and composers, welcoming guest lecturers, and joining forces with the College’s many fine student instrumentalists.

Now, after a term’s sabbatical, we are delighted to announce the Schola’s seventh season. As we thank outgoing Music Director, Jacob Robins, for his leadership and dedication, we are thrilled to welcome our incoming conductor, Virginia Tilley.

Under Virginia’s leadership, the Schola will begin the 2016-2017 season with a newly constituted roster, and an exciting new music list.

So whether you’ll be joining us as a singer, a concertgoer, or supporter, we hope to see you soon!

Warmest regards,

Matthew F. Reese, Music Director Emeritus
