The William & Mary Schola Cantorum: Welcome!
We are The William & Mary Schola Cantorum, an entirely student-directed chamber choir dedicated to renaissance and twentieth century composition. Modeled in part on the university chapel choirs of Oxford and Cambridge, our ensemble sings from a broad, varied repertoire of sacred and secular music.
This spring marked our third year, with engagements at both the College and Bruton Parish Church, as well as collaborations with the William & Mary Early Music Ensemble and the CNU Voices. The 2012-2013 season included six engagements, centered around two main programs: En Feliz Armonía: Spanish songs of the Old & New Worlds, as well as “And the Sound of a Voice that Is Still! ”Nostalgia and the 19th Century Part-Song.
We are excited to be entering another year of music-making! Join us at Bruton Parish Church, in the Wren Chapel, or travel with us to Christopher Newport University for our concert with our sister group, the CNU Voices, in the new Pope Chapel at CNU. We look forward to seeing you there!
All the very best,
