Chamber musicians dedicated to renaissance and 20th century composition.

The William & Mary Schola Cantorum: Welcome!

___________________________________________________

We are The William & Mary Schola Cantorum, an entirely student-directed chamber choir dedicated to renaissance and twentieth century composition. Modeled in part on the university chapel choirs of Oxford and Cambridge, our ensemble sings from a broad, varied repertoire of sacred and secular music.

This spring marked our third year, with engagements at both the College and Bruton Parish Church, as well as collaborations with the William & Mary Early Music Ensemble and the CNU Voices. The 2012-2013 season included six engagements, centered around two main programs: En Feliz Armonía: Spanish songs of the Old & New Worlds, as well as “And the Sound of a Voice that Is Still! ”Nostalgia and the 19th Century Part-Song.

This fall, the Schola will embark under a new, highly talented leadership, with Wes Dunnavant as Music Director and Sarah Falls as Assistant Director. We hope you will join these fine directors and the Schola for their 2013-2014 season!

All the best,

Matthew F. Reese ’13
Music Director Emeritus
